Jarritos might be the most fun soda in the store. It's made in Mexico, it's sweetened with sugar instead of corn syrup, it's way less fizzy than American soda, and it comes in more fruit flavors than you can count. That softer fizz is a gift for dirty sodas. The cream blends in smoother and the fruit tastes brighter.
Every recipe below is for a 24 oz cup full of pebble ice. One 12.5 oz bottle of Jarritos is the perfect pour. Syrup first, then the soda, then the cream, slow.
1. Mandarin Creamsicle
Mandarin is the fan favorite, and it makes the best creamsicle. This is where to start.
- 1 oz vanilla syrup
- 1 bottle Jarritos Mandarin
- 1½ oz half-and-half
- Orange wheel
It tastes like the ice cream truck pulled up to your house. If you love this one, try our Orange Dreamsicle.
2. Tamarind Chili
Tamarind is sweet, sour and a little earthy. Add heat and it gets very flirty.
- Chili-lime salt rim
- ½ oz brown sugar syrup
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- 1 bottle Jarritos Tamarind
- 1 oz coconut milk
Wet the rim with lime and dip it in chili-lime seasoning before you add the ice.
3. Piña Colada Pineapple
Vacation in a cup, no plane ticket required.
- 1 oz coconut syrup
- 1 bottle Jarritos Pineapple
- 1½ oz coconut cream
- Pineapple wedge
4. Coconut Lime
Jarritos Lime is the closest thing to the original dirty soda flavor. Bright, tart and made for coconut.
- 1 oz coconut syrup
- ½ oz fresh lime juice
- 1 bottle Jarritos Lime
- 1½ oz coconut cream
5. Mango Chamoy
Sweet mango, tangy chamoy and a spicy rim. This one has a following.
- Chamoy drizzled inside the cup, plus a chili-lime rim
- ½ oz mango syrup
- 1 bottle Jarritos Mango
- 1 oz coconut cream
For a fizzier, louder version, try our Mango Chili Dew.
6. Pink Guava Cream
Guava is floral, tropical and soft pink. Pair it with vanilla for something dreamy.
- ¾ oz vanilla syrup
- 1 bottle Jarritos Guava
- 1 oz half-and-half
- Lime wedge
Our Pink Guava Crush is a close cousin.
7. Grapefruit Strawberry Spritz
Tart and pink, the lightest one on the list.
- 1 oz strawberry syrup
- 1 bottle Jarritos Grapefruit
- 1 oz coconut milk
- A pinch of salt
The salt makes the grapefruit taste sweeter. Small trick, big difference.
8. Strawberry Shortcake
Jarritos Strawberry is candy-sweet, so balance it with cream and a little vanilla.
- ½ oz vanilla syrup
- 1 bottle Jarritos Strawberry
- 1½ oz heavy cream
- Crushed graham crackers on top
9. Fruit Punch Party Pour
Jarritos Fruit Punch is made for big batches. It's the kid-friendly party star.
- ½ oz coconut syrup
- 1 bottle Jarritos Fruit Punch
- 1 oz vanilla cream
- Gummy candy on a pick
10. Mexican Cola Horchata
Jarritos also makes a cola. Pair it with horchata and you've got cinnamon cream heaven.
- 3 oz chilled horchata
- ½ oz vanilla syrup
- About 9 oz Jarritos Mexican Cola
Pour the horchata last and watch it cloud down. It's our Horchata Cola made with Mexican cola.
Jarritos dirty soda tips
- Chill the bottles overnight. Jarritos is less fizzy, so cold matters more.
- Use less syrup. Jarritos is already sweet. Start with ½ oz and add more only if you need it.
- Try chili-lime rims. Mexican fruit sodas and Tajín-style seasoning are a match made in heaven.
- Throw a Jarritos bar. Set out four or five flavors, three syrups and two creams, and let everyone build their own.
FAQ
Can you make a dirty soda with Jarritos?
Yes. Jarritos works great because it's less fizzy, so the cream blends in smoothly. Mandarin with vanilla syrup and half-and-half is the most popular.
What is the best Jarritos flavor for dirty soda?
Mandarin, Pineapple and Lime are the easiest wins. Tamarind and Mango are best if you like a spicy, chili-lime rim.
Is Jarritos made with real sugar?
Jarritos says its sodas are sweetened with natural sugar rather than high-fructose corn syrup. Many people find that gives it a cleaner, softer taste than most American sodas.
Grab a mixed pack, pick your top three and make it a taste test. Mandarin usually wins. Tamarind usually surprises people.
